The International Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog Registry (IABBR) was established to preserve and protect the genetic integrity of the only purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog, the CRK strain developed by R.T. Coleman. We register exclusively dogs from Coleman's closed studbook, maintaining the strict standards that created breed consistency.
Our mission is to preserve this American heritage breed for future generations, ensuring that the working ability, stable temperament, and distinctive characteristics that define the true Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog continue unchanged. We believe that genetic integrity and working ability are inseparable, and that proper breed development requires a scientific approach rather than commercial exploitation.
The IABBR represents the culmination of over three decades of dedicated breed development, from Lane's vision through Nicholas's scientific foundation to Coleman's genetic mastery. We are the guardians of America's most distinctive working bulldog — a living testament to the ingenuity and dedication of the southern dog men who refused to let their heritage disappear.
"The Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog and American Bulldog remain 'kissing cousins' — related through shared heritage yet distinct in their development, both carrying forward the legacy of America's working bulldog tradition."
The IABBR Studbook is the supreme authority on purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog pedigrees across the globe. The compilation of the breeds studbook began in 1989 and was officially closed in 1999 by the breed's founder and parent club. This means that for the last 20 years to this day, all IABBR registered Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldogs are purebred and ascend directly from a closed gene pool of the foundation dogs that were used to create the breed and this means that no outside blood has been allowed to enter the gene pool. The IABBR register the only purebred variety of Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog in the world.
If you find for sale dogs and puppies advertised as purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldogs and they do not have official IABBR paperwork then it is likely that the dogs and puppies from this breeder are not purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldogs and are more likely they will be mixed breed and they will not hold the true, unique characteristics and temperament traits of the purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog only found at the IABBR.
The following registries accept cross bred dogs as purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldogs. We stand vehemently against this blatant disregard for the preservation of the Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog in its purity and believe that any kind of crossbreeding is wholly damaging to the limited gene pool of the purebred Alapaha Blue-Blood registered only by the International Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog Registry (IABBR) - "Where heritage matters".
These registries are known to register cross bred dogs as purebred:
